Long Covid Families has asked caregivers to share any doctors who have been helpful for treating Long Covid symptoms in their child.

Children who are experiencing fatigue or lack of stamina may be experiencing a physiological response to exertion known as Post-exertional malaise (PEM).
PEM causes a worsening of symptoms following even minor physical or mental exertion. This response can be delayed hours to days after the activity and lasting for days, or even months.
Patients with PEM are encouraged to practice pacing activities to prevent deterioration of their condition. Graded exercise therapy may be harmful for this patient group and should be avoided.
